On Thursday, September 25th, hundreds of striking college full-time support staff, labour allies and faculty rallied outside the College Employer Council’s Headquarters, taking over the intersection near Queens Quay in Toronto.
In the two weeks since the strike began, the employer – the College Employer Council (CEC) – has used media interviews to spread false information through CEC frontman Graham Lloyd. This week, Lloyd spoke with media about the possibility of impending mergers, yet disclosure on restructuring plans requested in negotiations has been refused without a gag-order.
On Thursday, we came together with a resounding message: Graham Lloyd – tell us the truth of what you have in store for our public colleges.
The rally was a beautiful moment of resilience, joy, and solidarity – with a touch of political theatre!
