The members of OPSEU/SEFPO are united in their sorrow and dismay following the murderous attack on Jewish people that occurred at Bondi Beach, Australia yesterday.
There is no place in our world for antisemitism. No one should be terrorized and killed on the basis of their religion at any time, but it is especially tragic that this attack took place at a time and place meant to be a celebration of faith and hope. The attack yesterday on dozens of Jewish people marking Hannukah at Bondi Beach is a terrible stain on the memory of the peace in which we all deserve to live.
OPSEU/ SEFPO sends solidarity and strength to the Jewish community in Australia and to all of our members who feel the pain of this here in Ontario. We stand with you in our absolute commitment to fighting antisemitism.
