OPSEU/SEFPO leaders and delegates to the 2025 Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL) convention this week were thrilled to congratulate Local 376 President and long-time OPSEU/SEFPO activist Michael Hamilton on his election to Executive Vice-President of the OFL.
Michael has held many leadership positions within OPSEU/SEFPO since becoming a member in 2015. In addition to being the President of Local 376 in the Liquor Board Employees Division (LBED) since 2021, he has served on multiple OPSEU/SEFPO committees, including the Coalition of Racialized Workers, member-run publication InSolidarity, the Provincial Human Rights Committee and the Constitution committee.
During his time as an activist with OPSEU/SEFPO, Michael has worked hard to bring to light challenges that racialized members face in the union and in their workplaces. In 2024, Michael was the recipient of the Stanley H. Knowles Humanitarian Award at OPSEU/SEFPO Convention Awards Night for exemplary leadership within our union.
