OPSEU Region 7 holds week-long educational

15 members from across Region 7 attended the pilot project "Weeklong Educational for New Activists" held in Thunder Bay last week. This educational targeted up and coming activists who may not have had the opportunity to attend regional educationals.

The courses presented were: Stewardship 1, Stewardship 2, Duty to Accommodate 1, Basic Grievance Handling and Meetings. The facilitators compressed the weekend educational material to fit into a full day.

A graduation ceremony was held at the Thunder Bay Regional Office where the Executive Board Members and the members of Region 7’s Provincial Committee were on hand to inform the participants on what their roles are and to give them encouragement as they launch into their respective locals armed with the knowledge from the educational.
