OPSEU animation videos for union work

The Training and Development Unit is excited to announce the launch of a new animated video series as part of our education materials for members.

Covering a range of topics, and responding to the increasing need for easy and ready access to education, these video animations hit the mark.

OPSEU is committed to providing education opportunities that are accessible, and can be shown at any union event. They are easily integrated into local lunch and learns and provide a great introduction for new members.

Each video can be accessed 24 hours a day via the OPSEU website and the new OPSEU Education YouTube channel.

What is OPSEU?

The best way to understand what OPSEU’s all about is to imagine what your work would be like if you had NO union!

The Collective Agreement

A collective agreement is very similar to a rule book – one that spells out the conditions of work so that the rules apply to everyone.

Union Dues

The power of working together and pooling resources means that your union dues create a huge network of support.

The Grievance Procedure

Every collective agreement contains a section on the grievance procedure. A grievance is a complaint against management, because management in some way violated the language of the collective agreement.

The Union Steward

So you’ve just been elected as a steward. What now? As a steward, think of yourself as the main link between your union and the workers you represent.
