Action items
- Schedule a General Membership Meeting (GMM), as per Article 29.7.1 of the Constitution, either in the fall or early in the new year.
- Trustee Audit Reports up-to-date as of December 31, 2025 – in order to obtain time-off letters for alternates and observers attending Convention.
- “Applications for Membership” completed by all new members – Delegate entitlement to Convention is based on “signed-up” members as of December 31, 2025 (no exceptions).
- GMM held with quorum achieved, as per Article 29.8.2, to elect delegates/alternates to Regional Meeting (March 21, 2026) and Convention.
- January 6, 2026 – Convention call issued to all Local Presidents listing number of signed-up members and delegate/alternate entitlement.
- January 13, 2026 – Deadline for all Convention awards nominations
- February 6, 2026 – Deadline to submit Constitutional Amendments
- February 6, 2026 – Deadline to submit Resolutions
- March 6, 2026 – Firm deadline for members to register through the Member Portal for time off letters, hotel rooms and childcare registration.
- March 10, 2026 – Deadline to submit local credentials for Convention to be sent to convention@opseu.org.
- March 25, 2026 – Delegates to be provided with links to Sections D, E, G and H as per the Constitution.
- April 8, 2026 – Convention registration – 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the MTCC.
- April 9, 10 and 11, 2026 – Convention 2026 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre
