Don’t let Doug Ford cheat your community: tell him to pay community and social service workers what they are owed

Workers in the Worth Fighting For campaign are ramping up their fight and calling on the Ford government to pay them what they are owed and invest in community and social services.

Workers have had their wages squashed for years while community and social services have been chronically underfunded – leaving long waitlists for services and growing gaps.

The Ford Government’s Bill 124 made things worse by capping wage increases during a time of soaring inflation. Since Bill 124 was deemed unconstitutional and overturned, Ford’s Conservatives have paid back wages to some workers but have continued to ignore workers in community and social services.

Workers in the Worth Fighting For campaign have come together to demand better – for themselves, their colleagues and the people they support – through coordinated bargaining and putting pressure on the Ford government to increase long-term funding.

To date, 46 bargaining units have taken strong strike mandate votes, and last week we delivered a clear message to Doug Ford with a Day of Action at Queen’s Park. Workers are ready to turn up the pressure in their fight for wage justice and long-term funding for community and social services.

We’ve also launched an ad campaign calling on Doug Ford to stop cheating our communities and pay workers what he owes them.

Watch the new campaign video that calls out Doug Ford for squashing work wages, eroding public services and cheating communities who rely on community and social services.
