Congratulations to OPSEU local presidents

Forty-five local presidents from across the province completed an orientation program at OPSEU head office over the past two weeks. The newly expanded program is three days long, and includes discussions and activities designed to introduce participants to the important role and functions of being a local president. Staff presenters shared information about the many services and resources available to support local leadership in the work that they do.

OPSEU President Warren (Smokey) Thomas and First Vice-President/Treasurer Eduardo (Eddy) Almeida welcomed the local presidents. Recognizing that many members have been stewards and activists for years before stepping up as local presidents, they were commended for taking on this leadership role.

The next orientation program will be held in November 2016. Details will be released closer to the date.
