Take Back Our Hospitals – Day of Action against the cuts at North Bay Regional Health Centre

Rally with members of OPSEU Local 662, along with a coalition of health advocates, health workers and patients who want the provincial government to not only stop reductions at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, but to restore services which have already been cut.

North Bay is facing among the worst hospital cuts in all Ontario. Services across Northeastern Ontario are being cut, forcing patients to drive further for the care and services they need. The province is under-funding the North Bay Regional Health Centre by at least $23 million a year. In September the hospital announced it would be eliminating 158 positions, almost 30 beds and several programs in an effort to save $14 million. Built and maintained as a public-private partnership (P3), the hospital is costing more, and delivering less, than it would have as a traditional public hospital.

Please Join us on Nov. 30. Don’t miss this opportunity to help us restore our hospital services.  Please circulate widely.
