Due to the Employer’s insistence on maintaining a concessionary bargaining agenda and refusal to address the Correctional Bargaining Unit’s ever-deteriorating working conditions, the Bargaining Team is issuing the following directive to all bargaining unit members:
The Bargaining Team is directing all members in acting management positions to return to a bargaining unit position by September 15th.
This directive includes day-to-day actors.
We are short-staffed, under-resourced, and facing ever increasing workplace violence. It’s time to stop helping management do their jobs, when they place the blame on us for all the systemic problems and operational issues.
Record high inmate counts; record high workload and caseloads; record high workplace violence and staff assaults – these are all issues that need to be immediately addressed by the Employer at the Bargaining Table.
Enough is enough!
